This state was carved out of the former Gongola State, which itself was carved out of the former North Eastern State. Major attractions include, River Benue, Mambilla Plateau, GAshaka and Karimbila Game Reserves. Mineral resources include, Clay, Bauxite, Lead, Zinc, Graphite, Iron, Barytes, and Marble. This state has the largest livestock in Nigeria because of its rich vegetation and favorable climatic conditions.
