The state is situtated in the former North Eastern State in the north eastern corner of the country. Borno is famous for its historical significance. Borno is the site of the ancient cities of Birnin, Shehu Dynasty. The state is also hoome to lots of tourist attractions, Lake Chad, Jaffi Water Falls, Lake Alau, Lake Tilla, Gwoza Hills, and sandy Kyarimi Park.
