This state was created out of Rivers State. The state is blessed with beautiful beaches, rivers, streams, and creeks. The people in this state are traditionally fishermen, however, the state has an enormous reserves of crude oil and natural gas. The state has a rich tradition of people engaging in seasonal wrestling contests. They also participate in masquerade, war canoes and displays regatta.
