The newly created state is not only famous for traditional arts and crafts, such as beads, swords glassware, but it is also the site of the Argungu fishing festival, which has become one of the foremost tourist attractions in Nigeria. Held once a year it attractsncompetition from neighbouring Niger and Chad Republics and thousands of visitors from outside Nigeria's borders. Apart from the traditional fishing competition there is also a side-show of sorts featuring boxing and wrestling contests and feats of endurance. A motor rally has also added to the allure of the Angungu festival. The Kanta museum in Argungu is also a tourist attraction in this state.
